Dr. Rodger W. Bybee is chair of the Science Forum and Science Expert Group, and Questionnaire Panel Consultant for PISA 2006. Until 2007, Dr. Bybee was executive director of the Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS), a non-profit organization in Colorado Springs, Colorado that develops curriculum materials, provides professional development for the science education community, and conducts research and evaluation on curriculum reform. Dr. Bybee has written widely, publishing in both education and psychology. He is co-author of a leading textbook titled Teaching Secondary School Science: Strategies for Developing Scientific Literacy. His recent books include Achieving Scientific Literacy: From Purposes to Practices and Learning Science and the Science of Learning.  His pioneering work in Science education and pedagogies led him to be affectionately known by educators worldwide as the ‘father of the 5Es learning cycle.’

Dr. Bybee serves on the advisory boards and committees for The National Academies, The U.S. Department of Education, The National Science Foundation, and The American Institute of Biological Sciences. He currently chairs the National Forum for the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development for the 2006 Program for International Student Assessment in Science. In addition he is an advisor to the Trends in Mathematics and Science Study video projects.

Dr. Mark Salata has helped educators transform their learning environments for over 20 years. In workshops and seminars with over two thousand teachers worldwide in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States. He has inspired teachers to take advantage of inquiry-based learning strategies and enabled them to empower their students to think more critically and more creatively.

His training includes a B.S. and M.S. in Biology and a Ph.D. in Science Education. He is a former associate professor of biology at Gordon College and instructor of record with Colorado State University. His time as Director of BSCS Keys to Science Summer Institute was crucial for him to gain a depth of knowledge of the BSCS 5E model instructional model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate) and how it can be applied to all learning from those who created it.

He is currently VP of Partnerships, North America/Europe for Amdon and CEO of Werkz Publishing Inc. in which he helps educational, non-profit, and for-profit organizations utilize Amdon’s technologies in the service of teaching and learning.

Mr. Eric Lam is an internationally recognised expert in Inquiry-Based and STEM Learning, having co-authored some of the most successful science textbooks used in Singapore. He brings unique perspectives, gained from having trained more than 10,000 educators worldwide over the last 20 years. He is widely regarded as the go-to-source on STEM Learning and has been invited to speak to global organisations including SINGTEL, Edtech Asia, and Digital Education Show Asia (DESA).

Additionally, Eric’s works in STEM resources for kids have won numerous international awards and are endorsed by leading experts in STEM learning as the “21st Century answer to a 21st Century problem” in education.
